The Overconfidence Quiz!
Overconfidence is a problem for almost everybody, almost everywhere. In the weekend message regarding Romans 1o I mentioned a quiz that aims to prove it. It’s fun and eye-opening. In the weekend message we mentioned two things that keep us from the righteousness from God: The Performance Trap and Self-Deception. Essentially, when we fail to perform, we deny it and convince ourselves otherwise, which leads to overconfidence. To illustrate that fact in leaders and/or managers, Russo and Schoemaker use an “Overconfidence Quiz.” They mention it in their book Decision Traps (1989), which I read decades ago. Yes, decades. And even then it was 10 years old! I walk you through it in this podcast.
