If you want to know what a movie is about, pay close attention during the first five minutes of the film. You will notice that the themes are already present and the character development is already under way. The same can be said of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures. The first few pages of the Bible make for incredibly rich reading as they tap into foundational truths about human beings, the world they live in, and the God who made it all. We will find a good God who created a good world and invited human beings into a full on expression of the good life therein. Of course, we will also begin to see what ails us and keeps us from fully experiencing life as God intended. Still, in the end, we will make note that this good God has not abandoned us and has every intention of setting things right.
