Equipping: Digital Technology Focus for Parents of Young Children

Social Media is being used by millions of children hourly to communicate and share information with each other and the world. The days of Facebook are gone and students as young as nine and ten now have smart devices and are using picture and video sites like Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat multiple times throughout the day and night. While these sites can be fun and have social and educational benefits; society, parents, and schools are dealing more and more with the dark side of social media: bullying, sexting, cyber-stalking. Parents and educators alike need to work together to stay informed and ahead of the technology so that we can all keep our children safe.
