Intersections: Faith & Politics

On page one of Scripture it is made clear that as those made in the image of God, human beings have the unique calling of ruling and subduing creation. What is not as clear is how this ought to be done, particularly in a world where not everyone agrees to the foundational principle that human beings are made in God’s image. How are Christians to proceed in a world where not everyone is on the same page about what constitutes the good life? What does faith look like when the general public may not share the same ethical commitments? Clearly, not all Christians share the same answers to these questions. On October 15 (5:45pm-8pm) at Intersections: Faith & Politics, guest speaker Troy McIntosh of the Ohio Christian Education Network will draw from his considerable experience as a faith leader in the public square as he presents a framework for living faithfully while processing the political realities around us.

Mr. Troy McIntosh got his undergraduate degree from Wheaton College in economics and followed that up with a masters degree in education from The Ohio State University. Prior to his decades-long experience as a leader in education as Head of School at Worthington Christian Schools, president of the Central District Athletic Board, and Vice President of the OHSAA Board of Directors, Troy served in the Ohio House of Representatives in the Legislative Services Commission Fellowship Program. Currently Troy serves as the Executive Director of the Ohio Christian Education Network, a role that brings him into the public square in conversation with educators and lawmakers alike. It is a distinct privilege to have Troy with us to share the guiding principles he operates with as a Christian thinking deeply about politics.
