Intersections: Women in Leadership in Christian Ministry

It is estimated there are somewhere between 45,000 and 47,000 Christian denominations in our world. Of course, these groups carry many faith commitments that bind them together in unity, but there are clear differences in doctrinal positions that have led to the distinctions between them. One area of difference between Christian denominations is their view on women in leadership in the Church. All are following the same Lord and reading the same Scriptures, but disagree with each other on who may teach and lead others in reading those Scriptures. On September 17 from 6:30-8pm, guest speaker Pastor Rich Nathan will share on the topic. He has helped Christians around the globe to think clearly and deeply about the question of women in church leadership, and will help us to do the same as he presents at Intersections: Women in Leadership in Christian Ministry.

Pastor Rich Nathan currently leads a Pastoral Residency at For Columbus, a non-profit that works to bring the churches of our city together to have a unified impact on our area. Recently retired as a lead pastor, Rich Nathan is continuing the outsized impact he has had on Columbus for the past several decades. In those years as a lead pastor and internationally impactful faith leader, Pastor Rich has helped guide many churches and pastors through discernment processes that helped them gain clarity on a range of topics, including women in church leadership.
