Jesus is the head of the Church (Colossians 1; Ephesians 5) and He preserves its health and purpose by His Spirit through those who exemplify the gospel in word and deed, maintain a posture of God-dependency, remain loyal to Jesus, and live in step with the Spirit.
The Board of Directors serve to facilitate the above by ensuring gospel integrity (doctrine) and gospel application (discipleship) through direct personal influence and accessibility, lead pastor oversight, the proper teaching of Scripture, strategic and organizational health (direction), and fiscal accountability (dollars).
