I’m Ex-Air Force; M.B.A., Regent Univ, B.S., Grove City College;  Pastor, Grace Community Church, TX, 1993-1999; Pastor, Heritage Christian Church, 1999-2006; Pastor, Vista Community Church, 2007-Present;  I try to live at the intersection of Jesus and real life, I love the Church, my family, reading, flying, sports, ocean beaches, thinking and fixing stuff…

My phenomenal wife, Tammy, loves Jesus, people, tennis, speaking/writing, and directing our Christmas extravaganza.  She’s a mom, a counselor and an author!  An effervescent spirit and faithful woman…she’s my rock. I don’t know where I’d be without her…probably still living with my parents, the only people who’d love me! She’s everything to me, and there’s no end to her – she does it all (and I’m not exaggerating).

We have 2 boys. Spencer,’96 (our thinker)-married to Ashley. He is working as the Production Director at Vista; is a phenomenal drummer, a YL leader, he love’s card magic, and friends. Shay,’98 (our empathizer) – living in the Charlotte, NC area with his wife Katie – a decorated soccer player, plays bass guitar, a school leader, and an artist. Both guys have unique and practical walks with Jesus…I could go on and on…

We love being parents to boys, and we just think it’s a terrific privilege to have had them entrusted to us.  They’re everything you’d ever design into a kid if you could. Both the guys have served in different ways over the years, from Kids Community as the Pied Pipers of all the little people who just love them…to Musical Worship Team. That makes us awfully proud! Watching them develop and wondering what’s in store is one of the greatest things in life.

We moved from San Antonio, Texas to Westerville, Ohio in 1999 to help pastor Heritage Christian Church and then planted Vista (Dublin, OH) in January 2007.

My background is military, business, and church.  I spent my first years out of college as an officer in the USAF, and separated at the rank of Captain to help pastor a new church plant in San Antonio, TX. All in all, that amounted to 10 years in Texas. Tammy and I were married early in that season and both of our boys are Texas born! We moved to Ohio in ’99 and joined the staff at Heritage Christian Church. Tammy finished up her PhD about that time and I went on to earn an MBA from Regent University. Heritage grew from 250–2500 in the ensuing 7 years, when God prompted us to plant Vista in 2007.
